Replacing humans vs. Enhancing Humans
Venting!
For some reason, after AI hype turned up, there’s so much focus and rush to look for ways AI potentially can “replace” humans.
Almost daily I read or watch something where it mentioned AI will replace humans. Mostly just for clickbait.
Maybe I am stupid, but I my head the only logical reason of creating AI in the first place would be to enhance humans capabilities to solve tasks better.
But what exactly are we trying to do?
“Replacing human” should never be used as a term IMHO.
“Enhancing Humans” on the other hand sounds much more welcoming and useful.
IMHO I think our focus should be how AI can improve instead of compete with Humans.
Recent clickbait article I have read was titled: AI chatbots defeated doctors at diagnosing illness:
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/17/health/chatgpt-ai-doctors-diagnosis.html?unlocked_article_code=1.bE4.EqP7.Ir9V-BBZehXT&smid=url-share&utm_source=tldrnewsletter
Which is actually not talking about defeating anyone, but rather how the doctors did not know how to use the chatbots.
Yeah, which kinda proves a point.
Because AI chatbots needs input to make the right decision and it will make mistakes, if the input is not the correct way.
but I guess the billionaires have already set the roadmap for everyone else – so let’s jump onboard
